The Teleline Isolator product line uses state-of-the-art technology to isolate and protect telephone facilities and personnel from the hazardous voltages associated with Ground Potential Rise.

The Teleline Isolator unit breaks the copper continuity of the telephone line as it enters the substation, thus eliminating the conductive bridge, which links the substation and CO ground planes.

Its first line of defense is an enclosed isolation gap bridged by a bi-directional transmission system. It offers fail-safe protection within the systems' rated limits of 50kV rms, 70kV peak.

The Teleline Isolator product line can accommodate virtually every type of communication circuit. The Teleline Isolator has no moving parts, and does not require cumbersome remote powering arrangements. Its reliability in maintaining communications is unmatched, meeting all the requirements of IEEE 487. Winner of the 1978 IEEE award for best new product, the Teleline Isolator product family has continued to evolve with progressive innovations in high voltage protection.

Teleline Isolator equipment is modular in design, permitting the selection of only those components needed for a particular application. A typical configuration consists of a Teleline Isolator shelf housing one or more Teleline Isolator cards and a power supply.

Multi-Card Shelves
The shelves are used indoors to accommodate plug-in service cards. The shelf is equipped with the connectors required for any of the plug-in cards from the Teleline Isolator line of products. The Teleline shelves are available as three-card, five-card or eight-card configurations.

Isolation Cards and Standalone Units
Teleline Isolator plug-in cards are also available as standalone units. The plug-in versions will fit into the Eight-card, Five-card and Three-card shelves, while the standalone units are complete with their own enclosure. Each model will protect up to 50kV rms, 70kV peak.
